I would try to get my daughter to eat raw food (she's still a baby at the moment!) by opening eating it in front of her and hoping she would be interested in what I'm eating. :)

I let my 2 year old daughter run around a lot and do outdoor activities so she gets really thursty :-) Then I give her a fruit or vegetable juice or a smoothie, and she just loves it! She even asks for more.

I love to let kids play with their food. With raw foods we get to enjoy playing with it, too. Get your hands into mixing the raw alfredo sauce into the zucchini and squash pasta noodles and kids love to eat trees (broccoli). Just make it fun.

My son is starting to become intersted in superheros. I make raw popcicles so I call them "Spiderman popcicles" which has worked. He also likes smoothies. The next time I make a green smoothie I'll have to call it "The Hulk Drink" Lol.

I own the book already. I haven't tried the recipes yet, but it is a very fun book to look through. :)

Yes, sweets are the gateway ... I don't try to trick - when I make raw pudding or "ice cream," my little son tussles with me over eating it out of the Vita-Mix! And since he likes making things with machines, using the Champion for juice or nut butter is usually a hit.

I spend some time making talking in general about how much I like the raw food. I don't offer them any and when it comes time to eat it I make lots of yummy noises about how great it is. I never offer it, but make them ask for it. So far they always ask.

kids like to eat what they create. depending on their age, let them push the buttons on the food processor, blender or juicer, let them stir, pour in ingredients, peel, chop, spread, etc. my nephew was over the other day spreading red pepper wraps on teflex sheets the other day and was so excited! he tasted everything we made in the kitchen and like most of it. had he not been in the kitchen, he probably wouldn't have either tasted it or liked it!

First off I would start with cookies and sweets because I haven't found anyone that doesn't like them and go from there. So many good recipes now!

Enjoy! So glad your mom was okay!

I've been successful in getting kids to eat healthy dishes by making it fun, and by educating them. So that they know what they're eating and get into the habit of eating well.

One example is to create a fun-looking dish. I might cut veggies to make an animal or funny face. And the kids have fun eating it piece by piece. And then they begin making their own "scupltures" too.

Another example is by teaching them about other cultures. A "French" dish was the most popular way to get them to eat the latest meal I made. I taught them a little bit of history. And we had to try and speak French while eating together, too. "Oui, oui. j'aime des carottes!" (Yes, yes, I like carrots!) That was a big hit!
